Schedule a registry appointment at Serve Gourmet and fill out the registry questionnaire and inventory checklist before you come in, that way you and your loved one will know exactly what you need to register for. On the day of your appointment you will be greeted with a handwritten sign announcing your engagement as you enter the shop. In the middle of the store Brooke Gentry will have a table of sweet treats and a bottle of champagne waiting for you. After a toast from Gentry you will be able to scan the items you want on the registry scanner and they will be directly imputed into the online registry system. Serve Gourmet will provide you with a link to the registry and a place for your friends and family to phone in their orders 24 hours a day. Serve Gourmet also offers different options on shipping and can hold your items at the store while you honeymoon or deliver them all at once to your local wedding shower.

OFF REGISTRY:

Sometimes you may not be able to find the perfect gift to give on your loved one’s registry. In that case we came up with a bonus gift that makes a terrific wedding present when paired with some delectable jams or a bottle of wine.

Jenny Smith Charcuterie Boards

$45-65. Available at Hacienda, Aviary Lounge.

Jenny Smith handcrafts charcuterie boards in her Austin Studio. All of her wood is locally sourced from either the Berdoll sawmill, a family owned and operated sawmill that sources their lumber from a 100-mile radius of their shop in Cedar Creek, or recycled trees from Austin neighborhoods. “The trees I find are being cut down due to old age, damage, etc.,” says Smith. “I like that I can give them a new purpose.” The mesquite is particularly exciting for Smith to work with because of its unique shapes/grains and the fact that its so durable and resists warping. “[The boards are] perfect for the restaurant biz,” says Smith.

There are a number of charcuterie board designs ranging from classic to artful styles on sale at Aviary Lounge on South Lamar Blvd. If you are feeling the urge to buy something off registry, Jenny Smith’s timeless charcuterie boards make the perfect gift. Paired with jarred dips or jams and a bottle of wine, the boards are transformed into a quiet night at home for the newlywed couple.
