On Thursday, June 5, you’re invited to attend the Chevy Shop Social event at the Gateway Motor Club where there will be food, drinks, live music, and a special raffle benefitting Austin charities.
During this first annual event, 18 influential Austinites – including Citygram Austin’s Founding Editor, Chris Perez, and Fashion Contributor Joanna Wilkinson of Keep Austin Stylish, Indiana Adams of Adored Austin, and Matt Swinney of Austin Fashion Week – will be purchasing $300 worth of local goods to donate to the raffle. Chris and Joanna will be shopping in the North Lamar / West End district and fans can follow along with the days purchases with #ChevyShopSocial and even give some tips on where they should shop on the day of the event.
The food truck party begins at 6pm with Taco ‘Bout It, Hat Creek Burger Co., Stony’s pizza, Short Bus Subs, FYI Frozen Yogurt, and drinks specials from TipsyTexan.com. The raffle kicks off at 8:30pm, and guests can purchase raffle tickets for $1 each with proceeds benefitting I Live Here I Give Here, an Austin organization that connects individuals and non-profits, as well as the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), an organization that provides affordable health insurance to low-income, uninsured, working musicians.
General Motors, the main sponsor of the event, will also provide matching funds up to $5,000.
The event is free and open to the public.
