Foreign & Domestic

Each month, starting in April, Foreign and Domestic will invite nationally recognized chefs to collaborate in its own restaurant here in Austin. For one night only, the visiting chef will have a 45-minute talk/Q&A with guests, then will work with F&D chefs to create an amazing 7-course meal. Three of the courses will come directly from the visiting chef, and the other four will be created by the chef and F&D.

We’re excited to invite seasoned chefs to Austin so guests can get a taste of their food and find out what motivates them, what keeps them in the kitchen. It’s going to be a fantastic night of food discussion and exciting dishes!

The first event will feature Executive Chef Jason Vincent of Nightwood restaurant in Chicago. Nightwood’s menus are hand written daily based on what’s available from local farmers.

A CIA alum, Jason has worked in well-respected kitchens in Spain, Portland ME, and Chicago. He was named Food & Wine’s Best New Chef 2013, has won Cochon 555 and the Grand Cochon at the Food & Wine Classic. Nightwood received the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand Award, was named Best Neighborhood Restaurant by the Chicago Tribune, and was listed on Bon Appetit magazine’s 10 Best Dishes of 2010.
