The ZACH Theatre is the oldest in Texas and one of the ten oldest in the country. It employs more than 300 actors, musicians, and designers annually and around 50,000 children participate in their education programs, camps and classes yearly. The historic venue has been a central character in Austin’s performing arts scene for years, but recently both its budget and its staff have doubled making it deserving of a makeover.
The ZACH + IKEA Creative Spaces Challenge is addressing the ZACH team’s need for a more dynamic and efficient use of their office space
“I have witnessed ZACH’s immense growth over the past three years and since July have been in the thick of it. Our spaces are fit to burst with students, staff, actors, directors, designers, and more,” said Chad Dike, ZACH Theatre Performing Arts School Manager.
The ZACH + IKEA Creative Spaces Challenge is addressing the ZACH team’s need for a more dynamic and efficient use of their office space. Austin designers, organizers, and problem solvers were challenged to creatively redesign and organize the ZACH office spaces. The winning submission will receive a $2,500 IKEA budget for the project as well as a package of ZACH benefits.
