Catch some great music by New Car Caviar, a jam grass tribute to Pink Floyd at the Charles Johnson House- American Legion this Thursday. Shop local vendors and sample food by Tacos and Tequila, but don’t forget that this event is BYOBB, bring a blanket and a beverage.
Browse vintage vendors while the DJ’s spin at this all vinyl dance party. East Austin’s Hotel Vegas is host to Austin’s only weekly shopping and dance party. Vendors include King’s Road Vintage, Brookes General and Future Moon Boutique.
The first of three films of Friday Night Films at East Austin’s South Shore District will begin this week. This free event, presented by the Alamo Drafthouse and South Shore District will screen “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” outdoors on a sprawling lawn on the South shores of Lady Bird Lake. *Dog friendly
In celebration of American Craft Beer Week, the Draught House is offering a pairing of Brooklyn Brewing beers with cheeses from Antonelli’s Cheese Shop. The first 70 customers will receive a free pairing of four beers and four cheeses.
It’s the second of two weekends for the 3rd annual West Austin studio tour, where guests can visit dozens of studios and exhibitions on Austin’s West side on a free self-guided tour. Don’t miss the closing party Sunday, May 20 at Gallery Black Lagoon, with free beer and wine.
Austin’s best cocktail makers, Dennis Gobis of drink.well and Rob Pate of Péché will join San Antonio cocktail gurus, Jeret Peña, Jake Corney and Chris Ware Sunday at drink.well and Monday at Péché. The drink menu is inspired by Remy Martin, including cocktails such as the Ware’s Waldo and Corpse Reviver #1.5.
“I Didn’t See You There,” is a show of one-man shows, featuring Adam Trabka, Amy Wright, Byron Brown, Curtis Luciani, Erika May McNichol, Juliet Prather, Kirk Johnson, Kyle Sweeny, Scott Raney and Will Cleveland. This is the first night of Sketch Fest at Coldtowne Theater.

Sprindale Farms and Slow Food Austin will host author, freelance writer and educator Kate Payne as she discusses her new book, “The Hip Girl’s Guide to the Kitchen”. Payne will also demonstrate a recipe, provide samples and sign copies of her book at the event.
