Former U.S. Secretary of State will host a conversation discussing the crises, choices and challenges of her time in office and how those experiences will drive her view of the future this Friday at the Long Center. Each ticket holder will also receive a copy of her latest book, “Hard Choices.”
This 20’s-themed evening will include Texan spirits, wines, craft brews and handcrafted drinks. Enjoy live jazz music from Cats & the Canary while you taste local foods, try dance lessons from GoDance and an aerial performance by the Brass Ovaries. Vintage attire is encouraged.
Come celebrate the summer solstice at Banger’s with an entire whiskey brined hog, asparagus with almonds, yellow squash and zucchini, pumpernickel bread from Easy Tiger and strawberry shortcake. The party starts at 11:30am and live music will be going all day.

This weekend-long celebration brings together Grammy award nominees, Hall of Fame inductees and great songwriters and artists of past and present. See performers Kris Kistofferson, Shooter Jennings, Jessi Colter, Oslin, Lee Roy Parnell, Luke Laird, Rhett Akins and more at the ninth annual Hall of Fame Awards Show, held Sunday at the ACL Live. The 2014 Awards Show house band includes Johnny Nicholas, Cindy Cashdollar, Bruce Hughes, Scrappy Jud Newcomb, and John Chipman. Previous inductee Red Steagall will emcee as master of ceremonies.
Texas Tiki Week is a week-long celebration of tiki cocktails and culture, presented by the United States Bartenders’ Guild. The party kicks off Monday with cocktail personality Brian Miller, who will bring his pirate-themed tiki pop-up to Pleasant Storage Room. There will be tiki festivities going on all week at the event’s member bars (Bar Congress, Peche, Drink.Well. and Contigo) so check the USBG website for the full schedule here.
Don’t miss Blues on the Green this week at Zilker Park, featuring Shinyribs, with Tameca Jones. Music starts at 8pm; don’t forget your snacks, drinks, dogs and lawn chairs!
