Rise early to catch some of SXSW 2014’s most celebrated artists at KUTX 98.9’s live broadcast from the Four Seasons Hotel. Your $10 admission fee will get you a breakfast taco, granola bar, bottomless coffee and access to the day’s morning broadcast. This year, some of the artists include: Rodney Crowell, Shinyribs, Lucius, Wye Oak and Tinariwen. The event spans four days, beginning March 12. Get there early; this event is first-come, first-served.

SXSW will hold three nights of totally free outdoor shows at the Outdoor Stage of Butler Park. Just pick up a guest pass wristband on-site at the event (they’re also available in advance here). If you already have a badge or wristband, then you won’t need a guest pass.
The Los Lonely Boys will open the three-day event on Thursday at 6pm. Other notable performances include the Jimi Hendrix celebration featuring notable musicians from Guns N’ Roses, the Doors and Paul McCartney’s band.
Foster the People will take the stage Friday, while the Cool Kids and Childish Gambino will perform Saturday. Special guests North Mississippi Allstars and Snoop Dogg are also expected to perform with Take Me to the River on Saturday.
Come down to the Austin Convention Center to catch some of the world’s best poster artists, presented by Vans and the American Poster Institute. At Flaststock 43, you’ll see posters of every style, size and technique, meet the artists and have the opportunity to purchase their work for your own home. The event will run for three days, at the following times:

This fifth annual event brings hundreds of the most promising Indie craft makers to the Palmer Event Center for a three-day fair. The Renegade Craft Fair will be your place to find that perfect gift, whether it’s clothing, jewelry, ceramics, stationery or housewares. Best of all, admission is free with a guest pass that you can pick up at the door.
This annual charity day party will feature G-Love, The Octopus Project and The Whigs, with proceeds of the event benefiting Urban Roots, a nonprofit that benefits youth through sustainable agriculture. Satisfy your stomach and your ears while you enjoy some of the best pizza in town and see 9 different bands take the stage.
Want to start your weekend early? The first annual 13th Floor music SXSW Showcase features 13 bands that will play 13 hours of music, starting at noon on Friday. Get a taste of local, Texas music while you sip Texas craft beers from the renowned Hops & Grain Brewery. A few of the bands include: The Roomsounds, J.J. Charles & the Trainrobbers and Shotgun Friday.
Hostelling International Austin will host its third annual backyard bash. Enjoy free beer, music and food trucks right alongside Town Lake, with a spectacular view of downtown. Headliners include: Sweet Spirit, Burgess Meredith, Low Cut Connie and West Texas Hell. Just RSVP on do512 for free entry.
