For the week of August 21-27, Citygram recommends:
The W Hotel is opening up the WET Deck (usually reserved for hotel guests) to give locals a chance to escape the heat and wind down poolside. Enjoy $6 drink specials, and show up early for passed bites from TRACE. Citygram will be hosting this month’s SHOP LOCAL feature J. Hannah Co. – who will be providing demos of her natural perfume workshop. And Langford Market will have a pop-up trunk show with gift card giveaways. Enjoy all this while taking a dip or relaxing by the pool to the tunes of DJ Go Go Garcia! RSVP for free here.
Singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings will perform at the Historic Scoot Inn with Waymore’s Outlaws Friday. Shooter, the son of the legendary country musician, Waylon Jennings, will play songs from his new EP honoring George Jones.
In this week’s Creative Mornings ATX, local improv guru Andy Crouch will lead a talk on the intersection of creativity and failure. Crouch currently serves as the Director of Education at the Hideout Theatre. The event will take place at Bass Concert Hall in the Texas Performing Arts Scenic Studio. Register here for tickets.
