Sat. Dec. 6-7
For the 22nd year, Art from the Streets features work by homeless and formerly homeless artists in Austin. The organization hosts the artists in free, supply-stocked open studios throughout the year and return the proceeds from the show to them. We wrote an article all about it last year, check it out here. Art from the Streets is open to the public and artwork starts at $35 per piece.

This annual Austin holiday event features 200 artists showcasing thousands of carefully jury-selected paintings, photography, prints, sculptures, jewelry, clothing, accessories, glassworks, ceramics! Feel good about your gift splurges as proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Sat. Dec. 6
Be the first to experience Austin’s famous Trail of Lights this weekend by trotting in the two mile Fun Run Saturday Dec. 6. The run begins at the Zilker Park Trail with a homestretch beneath the holiday lights. Be sure to check out the free grand opening and 50th Anniversary celebration of the Trail of Lights with your family on Sunday, Dec. 7. Sat. Dec. 6
Enjoy Christmas Punch and a Tamalada (A tamale-making party) this Saturday at Mi Madres! You’ll go home with a dozen homemade tamales, a knowledge of the history behind the masa nuggets and a ponche Navideño (Christmas punch) buzz. We think a dozen homemade tamales would be the best gift to bring to your next holiday soirée! More info here.

Beer and cheese. Beer and cheese. Beer and cheese. This weekend the brew experts of Gingerman and renowned cheesemongers of Antonelli’s host one of their most popular tasting events of the year. There will be a fun tasting and educational focus on seasonal products including fruits, cheeses and beer. Reservations are limited and tickets will sell out so be sure to call ASAP! This would be an awesome date this weekend, if you ask us.

Tues. Dec. 9
Celebrate the one year anniversary of our favorite food truck turned restaurant. This throwback event will feature Odd Duck classics like poached duck eggs in grits, grilled broccoli and their famous pork belly slider. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Zilker Elementary’s Edible Schoolyard program. Salivate over some of their brunch dishes in this feature from one of our past issues.

Fashion X and Container Bar are hosting an unforgettable viewing party of the most anticipated runway show of the year, The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Besides drink specials and eye candy, Teddies for Betty’s, Siren’s Salon and Rae Cosmetics will present a live fashion display and pop-up shops as a preview for the 9:00 livestream from London. All ticket proceeds benefit Stiletto Stampede, whose mission is to raise awareness, education and support for breast cancer research and prevention.
