In case you need to tear away from SXSW and get a taste of a very traditional Texas event, look no further than Rodeo Austin. For an alternative to the lines, food and wine lovers should check out The First French Bistro, featuring Michelin-starred Chef Gérard Bossé and Angers Chef Rémi Fournier. Austin forager Valerie Broussard is working with them locally to source the best ingredients in Austin for their premiere pop-up at the French Ligation museum all throughout SXSW

The ATX Food Crawl kicks off its 3rd year this Saturday, and it’s a great way to discover and try the best restaurants and food trucks in the city. Taking place March 13-18, the crawl will be scavenger hunt style, and all you have to do is RSVP to see the secret menu that will guide you through the places to visit. Tag your food pics with #ATXfoodcrawl and include the restaurant’s handle to be entered for a chance to win prizes. This is an unofficial SXSW event, so it’s open to non-badge holders.
