Junior League Community Market

Start your holiday shopping season by perusing more than 200 vendors at Palmer Events Center (900 Barton Springs Rd.) This annual Christmas Affair is the largest fundraiser for the Austin Junior League. This year’s theme centers around the holiday charm of the Big Apple and features vendors from all over the country. See website for daily hours.

Wafflefest Comedy at the Hideout

All-you-can-eat waffles with all the toppings you can imagine and lots of laughs. Who could resist this weekend’s comfort food improv comedy festival at the Hideout Theatre? Performance times and tickets are available online to the 13th annual comedy festival.

Amy Schumer’s Back Door Tour

Creator and host of the popular comedy series “Inside Amy Schumer,” performs at 8:00pm at the Bass Concert Hall. Texas Performing Arts welcomes this edgy, crude, girl-next-door Comedy Central star to the stage. Watch more of her clips on YouTube, but not at work or with your grandmother. EAST Austin Studio Tour

This weekend, hundreds of Austin galleries, small businesses, homes and converted warehouses east of I-35 will be opening their doors to the public in the name of art. Yes, we’re talking about the thirteenth annual East Austin Studio Tour (E.A.S.T.) hosted by Big Medium, which is even bigger and better with over 400 exhibits happening on November 15-16 and November 22-23. Meatball Festival at Winflo Osteria

Meatballs for a cause! Join guest judges and musical performances at Winflo (1315 West Sixth Street), where local restaurants like Freedmens, NoVa and Punch Bowl Social compete for the honor of top ball. The festival is at 4-7pm and proceeds benefit Lifeworks youth and family advocacy organization.

Domain Tree Lighting

Meet Santa for fireworks and festivities this weekend at the Domain. This free family event starts at Noon to kick off the holiday shopping season with entertainment, performances, special in-store events, crafts, face painting and more. A 30-minute tree lighting spectacular will begin at 6:00 pm.

Blue Genie Danger Derby

916 Springdale Road Building 4, 7-11pm

Thrill-seekers will get a kick out of this destructive derby. The Blue Genie challenges you to build “the pinewood car of your nightmares” and go through a two-story hazard course. Things are going to get rowdy.

Hops for H.O.P.E

The second Annual Art and Beer Bazaar will be held at East Austin’s event venue, Fair Market (1100 E. 5th St.) at 4-10pm. The collaborative, family-friendly art bazaar benefitting H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere) will feature 16 local and national breweries, including Argus Cidery, Adelbert’s and Hops and Grains, and live music by Mayeux and Broussard, The Cover Letter and DJ Chino Casino.

Wine & Swine

Wine-and-Swine-Austin-Citygram

The 4th Annual authentic pig roast hosted by the Austin Food and Wine Alliance features fine wine, central Texas’ top chefs and live music at Star Hill Ranch (15000 Hamilton Pool Rd.) just outside of Austin.
