September 4

Food for Thought at ACL Live


Join prominent business leaders and community leaders for an evening of gourmet tastings by Austin’s chefs and restuarants, in support of Communities in Schools of Central Texas, an organization that works to keep kids in school. September 5

First Friday Block party at in.gredients


Neighborhood grocer, in.gedients, will kick off its first in a series of first Friday block parties. This Friday’s bash will benefit The Kealing Middle School PTA, and will include happy hour from 4-7pm, tastings from Haak Winery and Texas Keeper (a new Austin cidery), live bluegrass from David Diers and the #910 Train from 7:15-9:15pm, and a 2-on-2 half court basketball tournament.

September 6

Hot Chocolate 5/10k

$49/5k; $64/10k; $30/1.5k family walk

The Hot Chocolate 5k, 10k and 1.5 mile walk will make its debut in Austin this Saturday at the Circuit of the Americas. Get your fill of chocolate smoothies and treats at the finish as you celebrate with a post-race party. Register here.

September 6

Anniversary Week at ABGB with Crooks


The Austin Beer Garden Brewery (ABGB) is celebrating its first anniversary with celebrations all week long. On Saturday, Austin country band, Crooks, will play a show beginning at 10pm. There’s no cover, but there will be plenty of craft beers to go around.

September 7

Acoustic evening with Jason Mraz and Raining Jane


Grammy award winner, Jason Mraz, and special guests Raining Jane will play an accoustic show Sunday evening at Bass Concert Hall. Mraz has teamed up with LA-based folk-rock band for a new album, entitled “YES!” Get your tickets in advance here.

Urinetown at The City Theatre

This award-winning musical comedy is celebrating its closing night in Austin Sunday at The City Theatre. Get your tickets here.

Thinkery21 Back to School Party

$15/non-members; $13/members

Thinkery21 is an evening series designed for adults (21 and over) only. This Sunday, head to the museum for a cocktail making demonstration by Contigo, a school picture photobooth, Mortified Live (a series where people share their awkward childhood memories in front of strangers), a mobile art gallery and more.
