Paris, Texas collection premiere at ARCHIVE Vintage


View over 200 pieces of ARCHIVE Vintage‘s French designer collection, including Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, and more at this in-store celebration. Enjoy French cocktails by Dripping Springs Vodka, eats from Torchy’s Tacos and view a “Paris-Texas” editorial by Cecilia Alejandra. The party starts at 5.

The Ghost Wolves


This garage rockin’ duo are back in town, and they’re playing the ABGB this Friday. Enjoy some delicious brews and eats during the show; your ears and taste buds will not be disappointed. Check out their site here.

Dripping with Taste Festival

presale/$40; $50/door

Taste the best of central Texas’s wineries, breweries, distilleries, and restaurants at this annual festival in Dripping Springs.  Your ticket gets you six tastings of wine, beer or spirits, 10 food tastings, a souvenir wine glass, entry for door prizes and a variety of events throughout the day, including grape stomping! Don’t miss Austin vendors: Argus Cidery, Jester King Brewery, Deep Eddy Vodka and more. Online ticket sales will close September 12 at midnight.

Strut Your Mutt 2014

$30/adults; FREE/kids 12 and under

The Best Friends Animal Society is back for its third annual Strut Your Mutt, a leisurely walk with your four legged friends that helps raise money for homeless pets in Austin and around the country. The walk is followed by a doggie festival complete with pet contests, photos, goodies for dogs, food and refreshments. Find more information and registration here.

Kings of Leon

Kings of Leon are making a stop in Austin on their Mechanical Bull Tour (Todd Sanders made the neon sign featured on the album cover), with opening acts, Young the Giant and Kongos. See the show from the lawn at Austin 360 Amphitheater for under $30.

Banger’s Smoke Out Saturday


Celebrate National Peanut Day at Banger’s on Rainey Street with a special menu that includes a whole brined pig and sesame peanut cold pasta with coconut glazed pork. Banger’s will have live music all day long, with Bluegrass Outfit playing the first set starting at 11am. Boxcar Preachers will take the stage at 3:30, followed by Blues in the Night at 8 and The Cover Letter at 10:30.

Tameca Jones at Uncle Billy’s


Every Sunday at Uncle Billy’s on Barton Springs Road, local radio station KUTX will host a free live music series. This week, DJ Mixer Rogers will warm up the stage from 2-4pm. Jazz and blues extraordinaire Tameca Jones will bring her soulful touch to classic covers from 4-6.

September 17

Boardwalk Bazaar


Party at Austin’s new boardwalk this Wednesday from 6-9pm. The Austin Music Foundation is celebrating the opening of their new South Shore District headquarters with performances by Soul Track Mind, Gina Chavez, Riders Against the Storm, Quiet Company, John Pointer and Kalu James. Some of Austin’s favorite food trucks like Chilantro BBQ, East Side King, Garbo’s Lobster Truck, Burro Cheese Kitchen and more.
